Aartje (Alice) Antonia Knoppert Hoole

–

Provo, Utah

Alice Hoole passed away on January 24th, 2024 surrounded by her family at Orchard View Living Facility, after suffering with Alzheimer’s for many years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Alice was born in Amsterdam, North-Holland, Netherlands on December 24, 1933 to Johanna Clasina Veenhof and Fok Knoppert and was the oldest daughter of 6 children. Alice grew up taking care of her siblings as her mother had heath issues, thus becoming a caregiver very early in her life. She was a very hard worker in everything she set out to do. Everywhere she worked was improved upon by her abilities and knowledge, from being a housekeeper, teachers aid, babysitter, salesperson, to working in Dr. Van Kommens medical practice. She even worked in collections at Zions Bank and was more successful than the other collectors, due to her non-aggressive and friendly way of speaking with those indebted.

Alice loved to sew, crochet and knit and all of her grandkids received handmade items from her. She loved to cook and bake and share many treats with her neighbors. She was a great homemaker and had a talent for decorating, to where her home was not only beautiful but inviting. Alice always went out of her way to help anyone that she could and visited many who were homebound or in facilities. Even in her last years where she lived, she loved to visit with those around her.

She is survived by her husband, Rudolf Hoole, her daughter Judith Barton and son LeRoy Hoole (Marcena), her siblings Elizabeth Maria DeBoer. Marianne Venetz (Gregor) and Anja Hatch (David). Her grandchildren Jeremy, Jacob, Ian, Devon, Hayden, Harrison, Bryson, and Keaton, great grandchildren, Kaleb, Hannah, Olivia, Hope, Damian, Julian, Ava, Declan and one great- great granddaughter, Octavia.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
