Allen C. Cox was born in Provo, Utah to Clifford and Electa McKenzie Cox on April 2, 1941. Allen was a mischievous young man and had many "adventures" while growing up. He loved to play baseball, and while playing in little league, his team was able to play in the Little League World Series. He was so proud of that.
He was educated in the Provo School District attending Franklin Elementary, Dixon Jr. High and Provo High School, where he was involved in many clubs. Upon graduation, he joined the Army, where he was stationed and served in Germany. While in Germany, he loved to travel around while on leave. Spain was a favorite place. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he spent some time in college learning engineering.
He joined his father in the excavation business, which is known as A&C Cox Excavating & Construction out of Provo, where he spent his life working with many municipalities and builders who were not just clients, but very good friends.
Some of Allen's favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He met many great people on his excursions, who turned out to be some of his best friends. One annual trip he always looked forward to, and lived for, was his South Dakota pheasant hunt. He wouldn't miss it for the world! (Guess this year there will be a few more birds for the other guys to gun at!). He was an avid trap shooter and spent many years serving in various positions with the Provo Trap Club.
Allen is survived by his sons; Robby (Mia) Cox, James (Sadie) Cox, daughter; Jennifer Cox, daughter-in-law; Karen Cox, 9 grandchildren, 6 1/2 great-grandchildren, sisters; Dorthea Horrocks and Diane Frost. He was married and later divorced to Ruth M. Cox and Ginger Woolley. He was preceded in death by a son Micheal Cox and his favorite dog Drifter.
