Bernice Elizabeth Carr Thomas Obituary (1937

Bernice Elizabeth Thomas died September 21, 2013 after a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 9, 1937 in San Bernardino, CA, the daughter of Charles J. and Francis Malcom Carr. In her early life her parents divorced so she spent time with each parent in various locations. She spent time in California, with her father and step-mother (Clara). She finally settled with her mother and step-father (Ed Allen) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she also completed her education. Bernice married Fred Davis II on August 28, 1958. They had three children: Tannaca, DaNette and Fred III. They later divorced. On March 7, 1979, she married Evan Scott Thomas. They were married for 34 years. Bernice was a great mother and grandmother to all the children in the combined families. Bernice is survived by her husband, E. Scott Thomas, her children: Tannaca Linn (Monte) Wright, DaNette Davis (Lynn) Aziere and Fred Paul (Nicole) Davis III and grandchildren; siblings: Robert Carr, Edwina Allen, DeWayne (Nancy) Allen and Francine (Marshall) Taylor. Also Scott’s children: E. Stephen (Cecile) Thomas, Scott Norton Thomas, Don Karl Thomas, Alan Mathew (Staci) Thomas, Thomas Trent (Noelle) Thomas, Susan Thompson and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Frakes and her sister-in-law, Rene Carr. Bernice was well known for her generosity, cooking skills and unlimited love for her family and friends. The family would like to thank Alpha Hospice with a special thanks to Verna and Holly for their special care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 and Thursday morning one hour prior to services. Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Hills, 4800 North 650 East, Provo, Utah.
