Provo, Utah
I was a wife, mother, and granny. I was also a daughter of my Heavenly Father. I have no doubt about the continuation of life elsewhere and the supreme hand who organized this beautiful earth.
My parents were Owen and Marguerite Ogden. Second oldest among six siblings, I was born February 17, 1929, in Richfield, Utah, where I grew up. I met my husband, Wayne, at BYU and we were married for 55 years. We were the parents of four sons: Jerry, Lynn (Cindy), Kim, and Lon (Rita). I had eight precious grandchildren, and they in turn had 12 precious little ones.
I loved the concepts taught by the LDS Church, and I served dependably in it all my life, including 24 years in the Provo Temple. I volunteered at the Food and Care Coalition for 14 years, was a member of BYU Women, the Symphony Guild, Elder Quest, and Republican Women.
I was a farmer’s daughter and learned the value of hard work, thrift, and dependability during the depression. I graduated from BYU and was employed there for 29 years. I always appreciated citizenship in the United States, and was an educated voter, voting at every election all my life. I loved to read, walk, travel, cook for my family, mingle with friends, and garden. I loved Fish Lake and southern Utah. Because my Scottish Granny lived with my family, Scottish bagpipes and drums in the parades were exciting to me.
When my life was put into perspective, being a mom and Granny and learning to love people were my favorite and most important adventures.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Timpview 21st Ward Chapel, 2900 North Timpview Drive, Provo, Utah. My family will receive friends at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to my services. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Hills. Condolences may be extended to my family online at www.bergmortuary.com.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in my (Betty’s) memory.
