Cheryl (Paine) Vella Obituary (1965

Cheryl Kellene Paine Vella passed away May 15, 2010 in Orem, UT at the age of 44. She was born September 3, 1965, to J. Peter and Pamela Paine, near Pittsburgh, PA, and grew up in Pittsburgh and San Jose, CA areas. She was known by different names to different people: Cheri to her father, Kellene to her mother, Kelly to most of the rest of her family and friends, and Cheryl to everyone else. Kelly studied at Brigham Young University, in Provo, UT before marrying her "nerpoo" Shon Vella for time and all eternity in the Oakland, CA, LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and the mother of 3 wonderful boys, whom she raised primarily in Orem, UT. Kelly was always busy and loved to read, play games, travel, cook, play the piano, sew, quilt, help others, and create beautiful things with her hands. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and especially loved to work with the children in the Primary and Cub Scouting organizations. She was/is anxiously looking forward to becoming a grandmother. Kelly is survived by her husband Shon, her sons, Tyrie (Paige), Kelson, and Brady, her mother, Pamela Paine, her brothers, David and Jeffrey (Carolyn) Paine, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws for whom she was the family "glue". She is preceded in death by her father Peter Paine, and by her brothers Joel and Jonathan Paine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May, 19. 2009 at the Suncrest Stake Center, 90 North 600 West, Orem. Viewings will be held on Tuesday evening at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street, from 7-9 p.m., and before the funeral from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
