David Morley

–

Mapleton, Utah

David Scott Morley, affectionately known as Dave, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026 in Orem, Utah. He was born and raised in Provo, UT on January 10, 1961. Dave graduated from Timpview High School of Provo, UT in 1979. He married his high school sweetheart, Janie Craven in the LDS Provo temple in 1983. At the beginning of their marriage he was working at Granite Furniture to support his family, which gave him the skills he used to create his own successful company of furniture repair and painting. Together Dave and Janie raised their three sons, Steven, Ryan, and Tyler in Orem UT. In 2019, the empty nesters built their final home in Mapleton, UT.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Janie Morley, and his children Steven (Daniele) Morley, Ryan Morley, and Tyler (Kimberly) Morley. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Hendrix, Hazel, Hudson, Haven, Grayson, Karver, and Josie, along with his sisters, Barbara Morley and Diane Weaver. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ferris and Idonna Morley, and his brother, Mike Morley.

Dave loved music, dirt biking, and the great outdoors. He found joy in camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking including Mt. Timpanogos this most recent summer. He also loved traveling and enjoying the landscapes of Moab with his friends and sons riding motorcycles. In the most recent years, Dave and Janie enjoyed traveling and going on adventures both in the mountains locally and attending many major league baseball games together around the states. Dave had a passionate hobby of restoring classic cars, particularly his prized '69 Cougar and Ford Bronco. He often showcased his award-winning, restored vehicles at local car shows; a testament to his meticulous craftsmanship and dedication. Despite his many hobbies and achievements, what mattered most to Dave was his family. He always upheld a supportive presence at his grandchildren's extracurricular activities, cheering them on faithfully.

Dave spent his life enriching the lives of others with his loving and supportive nature. As a successful business owner, he took pride in his painting company; leaving a mark on the sacred LDS temples of Payson and Provo, UT; Cody, WY; Birmingham, AL; and Lima, Peru. His workmanship was not just a testament to his skill but a reflection of his dedication and faith. His devotion to his faith was also expressed through his dutiful service in the scout and young men programs. Dave was a patient and giving man, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom and his teachings that inspired his sons and grandchildren. His wit and fun-loving spirit will be incredibly missed by all who knew him.

Mosiah 2:17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
