On June 1st, 80 years ago, Heavenly Father released from his presence one of his choice daughters to come to earth to receive a body and on Nov 28th, 2025 He called her home back to his presence. Her parents Glenn Fox and Viola Stocking Fox formed an earthly family and then became a family for all time and eternity. Ella Elizabeth "Jo" Fox was born June 1, 1945 in Rupert, Idaho.
When she turned 16, her first date was a movie with a young man who fell head over heels when he met her. From that day on they became best friends. This young man who fell in love with her was Donald E. Day, Jr. but known as "Dan" to all who love him. After Dan accepted a mission call to Scotland to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to others, Ella patiently waited 2 years for her missionary to return.
A few months later Ella and Don were married for all time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on Dec 18, 1965. In 1968 they welcomed their first son. Three more sons would complete their family.
Ella graduated from Burley High School in Idaho, then graduated from Steven Henagers Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked for a CPA firm in Burley, Idaho. She later went on to work at the Provo, Utah hospital as a medical transcriptionist. Ella had many hobbies including crocheting, knitting, and sewing. The hobby she treasured the most and dedicated her life to was researching family history.
She played several musical instruments including the violin, piano, organ and ukulele. She enjoyed being a mother. She was promised in her patriarchal blessing that she would be the mother of faithful souls from the mansions on high. She met life's challenges with courage, strength, patience and most of all with the support of her loving, devoted husband and the love bestowed upon her by her Heavenly Father.
For 10 years she struggled with debilitating health conditions, she never complained. She accepted her limitations with a good heart and with giving kindness and “thank you’s” to caregivers. Her greatest caregiver was her husband. He served her with compassion, love and kind words until she was called to her Heavenly home. She is free now from pain, illness, sadness and disappointments. She has joined her parents and her oldest son who departed this life in 2010 in a place called Paradise and has laid her burdens down.
On November 28, 2025 Ella Fox Day completed the mission she was sent to earth to fulfill, the most important, that of giving life to children who were deemed as choice souls of our Heavenly Father.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Rdean. She is survived by her husband Donald "Dan", sons, Dana, Thayne and Clinton, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Debra Day.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025 at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, 500 North Main Street, Pleasant Grove, Utah, where her mortal body will be laid to rest in the family plot next to her son. Condolences may be extended online at www.bergmortuary.com.
Dan and Ella shared these verses from one of their favorite songs:
All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the night sky
Will never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll never be enough for me
Without you ❣️
