Emily Peterson Wilson was reunited with her beloved husband, Ronald Ray Wilson on August 8, 2016. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Emily was born April 2, 1939 to Maryann Petrea Olsen Peterson and Charles Abner Peterson in Provo, Utah. She was number 14 of 15 children. Shortly after her birth, her parents moved to Jolly Ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon in Springville, Utah. They lived there for three years then moved to the Lake View area where she attended Union Elementary until the 6th grade. Half way through 6th grade her family moved back to Provo to the home of her birth which was a house she always loved. She graduated from Provo High School in 1957.
Emily married her sweetheart Ronald Ray Wilson on January 21, 1958 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. After their children were born, Emily and Ray moved their young family to Grandview Hill where she resided for the rest of her life.
She was surrounded with many dear friends and neighbors in the Grandview area.
Emily re-entered the work force after her children were old enough as a cook for Utah Technical College, now known as Utah Valley University, until her retirement. She was known for her great cooking skills and her soups are still missed today.
Emily was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings, but may be best remembered for her calling as ward librarian for which she served over 30 years.
Emily is survived by her four children Roger Ray (Gayleen), Cindy Dansie, Bryant (Pam), and Brad (Nancy) and 12 grandchildren Ryan, Chalise, Kaylee (Micah) Hunsaker, Bryce (Ashley), Mathew, Bryan (Karlie), Brooke, Kendra (Connor) Breinholt, Kourtney (Neil) Burraston, Austin Dansie, Todd and Allison. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren Braelynn and Kyson Hunsaker and Taysom Wilson. She is survived by five siblings Buena, Phyllis, Dale, Thora, and Glenna. She is preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings and her husband.
Mom, you will be missed dearly. Knowing you have been reunited with your family and your sweetheart brings great peace and joy to our hearts. We appreciate all the sacrifices you and Dad made for us and the great parenting that has blessed our lives in so many ways.
