Faagai Faye Talaiga Leuga Obituary (1938

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Fa’agai “Faye” Talaiga Leuga passed away peacefully at home, at the young age of 86 on Friday, August 2, 2024. She was born January 19, 1938, in Lona, Samoa to Viali Sagaiga Matagi and Fa’agai Su’a Ne’emia. She was the eldest of all her siblings: Paisa Matagi, Kuinise Matagi, Ward Matagi, Susie Matagi-Torres, Hazel Nihipali, Jeannie Saldana, Elvis Matagi, Fiapa’ipa’i Su’a Mene, Iafeta Su’a Mene, Uaea Su’a Mene, Mele Su’a Mene, Fa’afetai Su’a Mene, Logo Su’a Mene and Peni Su’a Mene. She is survived by her children: Marylyn Sweetie (Ioane) Fuamatu, Sylvia Darling (Justin) Kauwe, Viliamu (Lua’ipou) Leuga, Kilisome Some Jr. (Afton) Leuga, David Vita (Angela) Leuga and Jonathan Tana (Tamra) Leuga, Amelia Luamanu and Alapati Willis. Grandchildren: Jolynn, Fa’afetai, Penina, Samasoni, Kanoa, Senio, Mateo, Alesana, Vitorio, Tagiilima, Alofa, Alexys, Keian, Madelinn, Kelton, Quinlan, Daxton, Lincoln, Creedan, Journey, Tuli, Tana, Taita, Tala, Itutaua, Senio, Iafeta, Matthew, Jenny and Jerrod. Great Grandchildren: Avea, Kingston, Zion, Ace and Zuko and so many others Mum and Dad considered their children. She was preceded in death by her parents: Viali Sagaiga Matagi, Fa’agai Su’a Ne’emia and Folole Ava and also Papa Mene Su’a Mene and Mama Saunoailemau Su’a Mene. Husband Kilisome Tuli Leuga, brothers, Sauniga and Toetu. Sisters: Manu, Aita and Lika and grandchildren, Agelu and Cheynelle. She was a soft-spoken, resilient, vibrant, woman of faith and was loved by all. Our family has suffered a deep loss, and she will be dearly missed.
