Ferrin Richards Frazier II Obituary (1945

Richard, or Dick to family, was born in Salida, Colorado, the third of six children born to Ferrin Richards Frazier and Anna Maye Grieser. As a very young child, in Lakewood, Colorado, he was involved in an auto pedestrian accident and spent months in the hospital with serious injuries that affected his health throughout his life. His school years were spent in Casper, Wyoming where he attended Willard Elementary and East Junior High, graduating from Natrona County High School in 1964. He went on to attend Rick’s College and then was called to serve in the New England States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was privileged to serve under two Mission Presidents: Paul H. Dunn and Boyd K. Packer. He married Cynthia (Cyndee) Bolan, also of Casper, on October 1, 1969, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Richard worked in construction for many years starting out as a teenager for his father’s company, Casper Concrete, where he learned to do finished flatwork. In 1970, when Richard and Cyndee moved to Provo, he worked for Clegg Construction, then Provo North PM Group, Frazier Construction and ProSteel. In 1973 he, with the help of his father and brothers, built the home on 550 West in Provo where his children grew up. In 1995 he had double knee replacement surgery. Subsequently, a broken leg and osteoarthritis in his joints and back eventually ended his working career. He and Cyndee served an 8-year service mission for the Church in South Provo, helping prepare a Monday night Family Home Evening each week and working with homeless individuals and with welfare and food orders. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, 5 months,6 days 23 hours and 32 minutes: Provo, UT; and children: Stephen (Erica) of Provo, UT; Shane (Heather) of Orem, UT; Ann Marie (Sam Johnstone) of Palmer, AK; Karin Nelson (Tim Rodarte) of Fruit Heights, UT; Tricia Jones of Kaysville, UT; 15 grandchildren, 4 honorary grandchildren and one honorary great granddaughter. He is survived by his brothers: Randy Frazier of Arlington, TX; Gary Frazier of Mapleton, UT; and sister Becky Hoobler of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William and sister Edytha Poulsen, nephew Michael Frazier and niece Katie Hoobler. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11am at the Grandview South Stake Center 1122 Grand Avenue, Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
