Fred Parker Paskett Obituary (1950

Fred Parker Paskett of Provo, Utah, passed away on February 14, 2023, at his home with his wife by his side. Fred was born July 24, 1950, to Ruth and Parley Paskett. Fred was born in Ogden, Utah, and raised in Provo. He attended Maeser Elementary, Farrer Jr. High and graduated from Provo High School. Until the time of his passing, Fred was the Facilities Manager at ScenicView Academy, a residential program for people with learning differences designed to “Remember the One.” To say that Fred loved his job would be an understatement. He adored the people and students he worked with, and he strived every day to “Remember the One.” Fred was employed at Provo High School for many years where he was the head of maintenance and the head custodian. Fred also owned his own excavating company and was a master at creating beautiful rock retaining walls. Fred loved horses and the ranch life he experienced growing up with his father and grandfather. He looked forward to every summer and every Christmas so that he could go work with his grandfather on the cattle ranch in Nevada. Fred was a man that could do anything and everything! There was nothing he couldn’t build, repair, beautify, or imagine. Fred and Donna spent their days imagining projects and making those projects a reality. You knew that when you visited Fred and Donna’s home, there would be a project being started, a project they were working on, or a completed project that was a work of art. Fred was never afraid to tackle a project, no matter the size! Fred was the favorite among children. His grandchildren adored him and would light up the minute they saw him. They felt his kindness and his love the moment they entered the room. Fred felt that every grandchild was a blessing in his life, and he loved every one of them. We feel incredibly blessed to have known Fred. We are all better people because of his example. Fred’s unconditional love and his willingness to help any and all people will never be forgotten. His desire to always “Remember the One” is something we will try to follow in his absence. Fred was our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Donna Coates Paskett. Fred’s children from a previous marriage Chad Paskett, VaNika (Curtis) Reid, Marci (Cory) Newson, Andrew (Christina) Paskett. His stepchildren Kimberli (Jeffrey) Hawkins, Kerri (Eric) Angulo, Wade (Megan) Allan. His 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His siblings Phillip (Connie) Paskett, Sidney (Miki) Paskett, Beverly (Jose) Negrete, Connie (Greg) Adams, and Dale (Brenda) Paskett. His parents, his brother Parley Jay, and his stepson Travis Allan preceded him in death. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2023, at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street, from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services at the cemetery.
