–

Provo, Utah

George Douglas “Doug” Keen, age 65, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah after a battle with lung cancer. He was a resident of Springville, Utah with his wife and best friend, Jennifer Dillingham Keen. He was born August 22, 1957 in Las Cruces, New Mexico and lived there until age 15 when the family moved to Oregon. He graduated from Central High School in Independence, Oregon in 1975. He moved to Provo, Utah in 1985 where he and Juanita Carter Keen, former wife and long-time friend, raised a family of six children. During his lifetime Doug held a variety of jobs. In Oregon he worked at area farms, gas stations, a concrete plant and a mobile home factory. In Utah he was employed by an RV conversion business, a roofing company, a cement pipe manufacturer, and most recently he worked as a tow truck operator.

Doug was a very charismatic and much-loved man. His humorous antics and affectionate personality were a constant source of joy. He faced life’s challenges with positivity and determination. He was very proud of his large, blended family. He taught his children the value of a good work ethic and the importance of hard work. He was known for his skill as a mechanic who could repair vehicles of all sorts. Doug enjoyed camping with family and friends, and many weekends throughout the year were spent outdoors by a lake or in the mountains. He was especially fond of dirt biking and all types of motorcycles. Wave runners and boating were also favorites. He and Jennifer often made a summertime trip to Oregon for a family camp week with his siblings. They also liked hosting an August BBQ to celebrate family birthdays, and Doug loved inviting his neighbors to join in the fun. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, daughter, Jennifer L.
