Harold Swensen

Harold Earl Swensen, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, in his home in Provo, Utah, surrounded by his family.

Born on November 19, 1934, in Lago, Idaho, Harold was the son of Earl and Millie Swensen. After the loss of his father in 1940, he and his sister, Connie, had a nomadic childhood before settling in Provo, Utah.

On November 3, 1955, Harold was inducted into the U.S. Navy. He served for two years, stationed at Naval Air Station Barber Point in Hawaii. Following his honorable discharge, he transferred to the reserves in San Francisco, California.

Harold dedicated his career to iron work until his retirement. After retiring, he pursued his true passion: farming beef. Later in life, he married Joann Witherell, December 29, 1983. He was a dedicated farmer, a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a cherished grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Swensen; his mother, Millie Swensen Farrer (Roger); his wife, Joann Swensen; his sister, Connie Gill (David); and his son, Devin Harold Swensen.

Harold is survived by three of his children: Kyle Swensen (Vickie), Shane Swensen (Susie), and Cody Swensen (Nicole). He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who will deeply miss him.
