James Gollwitzer

James Gollwitzer, husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Provo, Utah. He was born on May 2, 1946 in Buffalo, New York to Grace Gollwitzer. He had one younger sister, Shirley. James married Alice Gaudio on February 14, 1970 in Buena Park, CA. James is survived by his wife, Alice, of 46 years; his children: Katherine (Darrell) Anderson, Prescott Valley, AZ; Stephanie Gollwitzer, Provo, UT; Deborah (Jared) Huntzinger, Atascocita, TX; Donald Gollwitzer, Provo, UT; five grandchildren: Kaitlyn Mariah, Sarah Renee, Sierra Belle, Reagan Noelle, Gavin Ryan; and family dog Tucker. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1967. James worked in grocery warehouses to support his family and retired in 1999. His family moved to Utah County from San Diego, CA in 2003. James enjoyed computers, watching baseball and wrestling, and visiting Wendover.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Freedom 2nd Ward Chapel, 888 S. Freedom Blvd, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will occur in the Provo City Cemetery immediately following.
