Provo, Utah
Janice was born March 17, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kenneth Cropper Bliss and Ardella Myers. She grew up in Spring Lake with her 3 brothers Ken, Gerald and Randy. She was close to her large extended family and loved spending time with grandparents, aunts, uncles and tons of cousins. She graduated from Orem High School.
She married Clark Milo DeWolf on August 20, 1959 and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Temple on September 3, 1983. They had 3 children - Natalie (Burr), Mitchell and Melanie (Rhineer).
Janice and Clark co-owned Zion Upholstery & Home Furnishings where Janice was the bookkeeper. She was also a proud homemaker who loved to host family and friends. She loved decorating for holidays, dressing festively, giving thoughtful gifts and spreading joy to others. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
She loved to help others in her community through various service and leadership roles in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a dedicated member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and volunteered at the Provo Temple.
Janice and Clark enjoyed many adventures with their family and friends participating in classic car shows, collecting toys, antiquing. Their passions took them on several cross-country road trips and many visits to Disneyland.
Janice was a life-long learner who participated in continuous learning opportunities every chance she could. She was curious about the world around her and the people in it. She always started conversations with people she didn’t know and went out of her way to be kind to everyone in her life. She loved to read. She was a diligent archivist. She meticulously wrote in her journal, captured home videos and worked to preserve new memories every day. She leaves behind a decades-long library of her life experiences for us to remember her through books, pictures and videos.
Janice will be remembered fondly by her family and friends as a woman with a generous heart, a kind soul, a sharp mind and a great love for her church and for her family.
She is survived by her three children: Natalie Burr, Mitchell DeWolf (Michele) and Melanie Rhineer (Jeffrey), 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and her three brothers Kenneth (Callie), Gerald (Liz) and Randy (Chris).
