Jennifer (Jenny) Elaine Quick

–

Provo, Utah

Jennifer “Jenny” Elaine Quick, 73, of Orem, Utah, passed away Sunday evening, October 13, 2024, in Orem, Utah. She was born August 23, 1951, in Manhattan, New York, to Harold Fullarton Coole and Elaine May Drake-Coole. She, along with her twin sister Gayle Steeg, are the eldest of three children.

Jenny attended Gloucester County College in Glassboro, NJ, where she received her associates degree. She later moved to Logan, Utah where she completed her degree at Utah State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in special education.

Jenny devoted her life to raising her six children and would call that her greatest accomplishment. Her first teaching job was for the Granite School District where she worked as a special education teacher for several years. As she became older, she stepped back from being the main classroom teacher and continued to work in the school system as a preschool teacher. The children and parents loved her and she had a wonderful reputation within the school community.

Jenny joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her children in Wichita, Kansas on August 16, 1973. She held many different callings over the years as she faithfully served in the church. Although she held many different callings, more than 90% of her time was spent serving in the primary. She cherished the opportunity to teach young children the gospel. When that wasn’t her calling, she would often be found asking the primary president if they needed a sub that week in any class. She had a primary bag bursting with crayons, fruit snacks and orange tic tacs. The primary children in every ward loved Sister Quick.

Jenny was preceded in death by her father, Harold Fullarton Coole and her mother, Elaine May Coole (Drake). She is survived by her six children: daughters, Tammy Quick of Draper, UT; Dawn Larsen (Corey) of Eagle Mountain, UT; Sandy Ulbin (Kevin) of St. George, UT; Jamice Quick of Burbank, CA; Brandy Waddoups (Ben) of Layton, UT; and son Brian Quick (Menolli) of Saratoga Springs, UT; 16 grandchildren, and siblings Gayle Steeg (Hal) of Sandy, UT and Moira Pennell (Bill) of Traverse City, Michigan.

Jenny’s hobbies included spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to support her children and grandchildren and could often be found at any of their activities. She loved serving in the temple, walking, baking, dancing, watching Christmas Hallmark movies year-round, journaling, singing, spending quality time with others, doing family history, reading, scripture study and endlessly serving others without being asked.
