Jovita Rodriguez

Jovita Rodriguez, a loving and courageous woman, born on July 6th, 1961 in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, and a resident of Eagle Mountain, Utah, passed away on August 25th, 2026. Jovita was a charismatic soul, whose compassion was as boundless as her spirit. She was a devoted wife, an exceptional home maker, and a dedicated matriarch who held her family at the center of her universe. Jovita possessed an undeniable strength, fighting tirelessly against cancer, exhibiting a courage that was a testament to her unyielding love for her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Efrain Rodriguez Carreño, whom she married on May 6th, 1988, and her cherished children: Mayra Rodriguez, Fray Rodriguez, and Jose Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her loving daughters-in-law, Brenda Patino and Cindy Trejo, and her son-in-law, Edgar Ramirez. Her legacy will continue to live in the hearts of her grandchildren: Yaretzi, Alex, Benjamin, Aubrey, and Giovani Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Angel Jesus Zuniga and Maria Del Carmen Perez, who have welcomed her with open arms into eternal rest. As we remember Jovita, we are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 11:25, “Yo soy la resurrección y la vida; el que cree en mí, aunque muera, vivirá."

Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem, Utah. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, August 31, at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street. Interment will follow Tuesday at the Lehi Cemetery.
