Provo, Utah
Kenneth Clair Thomas was born on January 9, 1954 in Provo, Utah to Robert Blaine and Fay Jones Thomas. Kenny passed away on August 14, 2017 due to heart failure. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother Terry Thomas. He is survived by his two daughters, to whom he was devoted: Morgan (Drew) Milton and Megan (Jase) Ayers; his brother Randy Thomas; and his sister Gail Barney. He also dearly loved and cherished Bryan, Amy and Kali.
Kenny was a lifelong resident of Provo and grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended Franklin Elementary, Dixon Junior High, and Provo High School, where he made many lifelong friends.
Family was Kenny’s number one priority, and no matter the season he made sure to have gifts or treats for everyone he loved. He had the biggest heart of anybody and whenever you were around him he made you feel like the most important person in the world. He had an amazing sense of humor and a quick wit; you could not see him and not smile.
Kenny had a love for many things: family, BYU football, the Utah Jazz, Harry Potter, and Lord of The Rings. He could tell you every player of the teams at any time or recite you a line from any one of the movies.
Kenny was always invested in his community, and has been a part of many organizations in Provo. He brought laughter, congeniality, and light everywhere he went, especially during his time working with Warburton’s, Huish Tent and Awning, and Geneva Steel. In his most recent years, he could be found driving the cleanest cab in Provo.
The world lost a good one this week. Kenny’s humor, quick wit and big heart will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS ward building on 610 W. 300 S. in Provo, UT 84601. A visitation will be held one hour before services at the church. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com
