Kevin Michael Benson was born June 21, 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona to Kevin and Lauri Benson. He passed away January 23, 2020 due to complications from a recent illness as a result of a traumatic brain injury.
Michael served a mission for The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2000-2002 in Utica, New York. He attended BYU, studying computer engineering and was an avid BYU football fan. He found great joy in serving others and was known for the powerful testimony of Jesus Christ that he had and shared often.
In 2010, his life changed dramatically when he was in motorcycle accident just weeks after he became engaged to Lisa Hepworth. Although he suffered greatly, he endured the trial with valor and was able to find joy in life despite the challenges he faced. In 2015, he and Lisa were sealed in the Provo Temple for time and all eternity.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lisa Benson; his mother, Lauri Benson, siblings, Katie Smith (Spencer) and Jeffrey Benson (Olivia); along with three nephews who he adored. Michael was joyfully reunited with his father, Kevin, who preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Jordan Willows 6th Ward Chapel, 496 River Way, Lehi, Utah.
