Kuulei Sunny Brown Carter Obituary (1977

Our loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, Kuulei Sunny Brown Carter passed away April 11, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Kuulei was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer, which she valiantly fought for 20 months. Kuulei was born October 18, 1977 in Payson, Utah to Matthew and Kathy Brown. She grew up and attended schools in Provo, Utah. Kuulei married Trent Steven Carter on December 18, 1997 and their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Kuulei was a faithful member of the LDS Church and loved serving in a variety of callings. She is survived by her husband, Trent; five children: Christian Keola (12), Emma Leinaala (11), Olivia Leilani (9), Ruby Jane Kalanialii (3), and Pearl Kuulei (2); her mother, Kathy and three siblings: Sasha Brown, Sean Brown, and Summer Raass. She was preceded in death by her father, Matthew Rangi Mataria Brown and her beloved son, Michael Wallace Carter. Kuulei was a beautiful woman, though her outward beauty was unmatched by her beautiful heart and soul. She was a woman of strong convictions, integrity, strength, courage, and grace. Kuulei’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and she treasured every moment she had with her children. She loved spending time with Trent and her children in the beautiful mountains of Utah. Words can never express how much we loved, adored, and will miss her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Grandview 16th Ward Chapel, 1260 West 1150 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the church, Thursday, April 16, from 6-8:00 p.m. and Friday, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
