Leslie Mason

Leslie (Les) Victor Mason was born September 24, 1934 in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada, the youngest of three children born to Peder Irvin Mason and Agnes Katherine Jackson Mason. Les passed peacefully into God's loving hands July 24, 2025.

He married Sheila LaRue Harrison Mason on March 18, 1961, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo, Utah Temple. He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, his parents and siblings Albert (Bert) Mason and Shirley Mason Lipp and one beloved grandson, Justin Franklin.

He is survived by his sons Richard (LuAnn), Darren (Paula), Bradley and Morgan. He was a much beloved grandfather to eight grandchildren: Andrew Burnett (Meghan), Paul (Rhiannon), Erik (Kat), Sean, Mandy (Kyle), Amanda Bode (Chris), Dallas and Melanie Mason.

He also leaves thirteen great-grandchildren, Caine, Drake, Dorian and Kathryn Mason, Tyler, Dylan, Zaira, Freya and Lyra Burnett, Keelie and Jexx Turner and Colton and Mason Bode.

Les worked for the Provo Police Department for 44 years (29 years Patrol and 15 years reserve) where he was passionate about serving members of his community and fiercely dedicated to having the backs of his fellow officers. During his down time, Les enjoyed playing tennis, hunting, fishing, visiting with family and spending time with Sheila before her passing. Les and Sheila served an elder mission, bestowing the opportunity to serve their community by volunteering at the bishops storehouse. Les touched many lives and genuinely made the world a more entertaining place. He will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Grandview 13th Ward Chapel, 1260 West 1150 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
