LueAnn North Bird Singleton Obituary (1934

LueAnn North Bird Singleton, 89, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, in Green River, Wyoming at the home of her oldest son. LueAnn was born July 23, 1934, in Elkhorn, Utah to Irene Morris North and Glen W. North. She was the seventh of nine children. She married Max Delano Bird on November 6, 1953, in Provo, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple a year later. LueAnn and Max were blessed with three sons. Max passed away August 8, 1974. LueAnn later met LeRoy (Roy) Evans Singleton and they were married January 12, 1979. Roy passed away April 22, 2002. LueAnn grew up in or near Heber, Utah. Because her father passed away when she was three years old, the biggest influences in LueAnn’s growing up years were her mother and Grandma Norris. Both were incredibly strong women who knew how to work hard and make the best of life’s situations, and LueAnn became the same kind of woman. Although LueAnn worked years at one café or another, she later took a job at Franklin Elementary School as a lunch lady and then lunch manager. She enjoyed working with the other lunch ladies and being around the kids. When she retired, she spent more time on her hobbies of reading, doing word search puzzles, and taking drives with Roy. LueAnn always loved the outdoors and camping, especially when all her sons were camping with her. In her retirement years, she and Roy went to a café in Spanish Fork every day and made many good friends. LueAnn continued enjoying spending time with “the coffee ladies” after Roy passed away and even once she could no longer drive, one of them would come pick her up to take her to coffee several times a week. Those ladies were her closest friends. LueAnn was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Wendy) Bird, Steven (Barbara) Bird, Phillip Bird, and her stepson, Alan (Diane) Singleton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her former daughter-in-law, Mareen Payne. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2023 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends from 10-10:50 a.m. prior to services. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Max in the Provo City Cemetery.
