Our mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on July 24, 2016 at her home in Orem, Utah. Born March 17, 1938 in Salt Lake City to Nephi Joseph Henricksen and Mary Helen Allen Henricksen.
Mary Jo was the eldest of 5 children. She graduated from Provo High School and Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 17, 1960. Being married in the temple was something she deeply valued. Mary Jo raised 13 children. Although she was a registered nurse, she chose to be a stay at home mother. She now has 38 grandchildren with one on the way and will have 5 great-grandchildren in August 2016. Mary Jo is now reunited with her parents whom she dearly loved. Her dearest friends throughout her life were her brothers (including brothers-in-law) and sisters (including sister-in-law). She has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in the Primary and Relief Society. One of her favorite church responsibilities was as a chorister and organist in China Lake, California. She was a very devoted visiting teacher and never missed a visit.
Mary Jo is survived by her 13 children: Kathleen (Tod) Sanders; Karen (Scott) Nelson; Kristylynne (Scott) Goveia; Kayleen (Dan) Dewey; LeRoy (Christine) Brady; Linda (James) Carpenter; LeAnne Evans; Mary (Rod) Thompson; Margaret Jensen; Matthew (Lori) Brady; Peter Brady (Heather Robison); Paula (Wade) Fieber; and Rachel Brady. She is survived by her siblings: Diane (Bruce) Jensen; Margaret (Arnold) Parrott; Yvonne Henricksen; and J. Allen (Marcia) Henricksen.
