Holly Pond, Alabama
Nan Volette White Swarts, 66, returned to her Heavenly Father July 7, 2025, at her home in Holly Pond, Alabama. She was born in Provo, Utah, March 24, 1959, to Charles Bud White and Patricia Tasker White. She spent most of her growing up years in Orem, Utah, where she attended elementary, secondary, and then high school at Orem High. She learned to play the flute and loved to run track. She loved basketball, softball, and having sleepovers with her friends in her dad’s camper. She was the first of her friends to get a car and would drive her friends everywhere.
Nan met her high school sweetheart, Norman Dale Swarts Jr., when she was a sophomore and he was a junior. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, June 24, 1977, and made their first home on Sand Hill Road in Orem. Nan, a talented seamstress, worked in a local sewing factory. While in Orem, little Norman Dale III, joined their family. Nan and Norm moved to Provo, then later moved to Springville, Utah, where Chuck Aaron and Rollin Arthur joined them. Their fourth son, Thomas Earl, came later, living only 2 1/2 days.
Another move to Kamas for Norm’s employment, then back to Springville, settling in Nan’s grandmother T’s (Tasker) house while the boys grew up. Nan really preferred being outdoors, fishing and boating, and watching her boys play sports. She loved to bowl and bowled together with Norm’s family and in competition leagues as well.
Nan was blessed with a beautiful voice and sang many times in church and at other events. She was a lifelong, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Nan loved to help people and strived to always be kind. Later in her life, she took skilled training in Salt Lake City, Utah, to be a licensed Advanced Medical Massage Therapist, and helped many people even if they couldn’t pay her. She always treated the children and special needs patrons without cost. She had a large group of patrons in Utah and in Elko, Nevada, for nearly 8 years. Norm and Nan moved from Elko, making their home in Manti, Utah, helping many people along the way with her skilled hands. At last, they returned to their home in Holly Pond, Alabama, raising chicks, turkeys, ducks, piglets, and even quail.
Nan had a great impact on many and will be greatly missed! She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Bud White and Patricia Tasker White; a brother, Var White; son, Chuck Aaron Swarts, and infant son, Thomas Earl Swarts. Nan, is survived by her husband, Norman Dale Swarts Jr.; brothers, Von White (Leah) of Orem, and Viv White of Goshen; sons Rollin Swarts (Abbey) of Taylorsville, Utah, and Norman Dale Swarts III (Jessica) of North Carolina; grandchildren Zya, Eva, Mela, Gwen, Chloe, Jacklyn, and David; also mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Joyce and Charlie Brown of Indianola, Utah; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Fred and Debbie Draper of Mt.
