Orlinda Wright Mower Obituary (1932

We lost our beautiful mom, Orlinda Wright Mower, on Sunday, January 15, 2023, five days after her 91st birthday. She was born in Provo, Utah on January 10, 1932 to Lorin and Orlinda Wright. She was the seventh of nine children. She is now reunited with her sweetheart, Robert J. Orlinda loved school, was an accomplished athlete, and was crowned Miss Provo in 1950. Orlinda and Robert were sealed in the Manti Temple on July 7, 1953. Together they raised three independent daughters. Orlinda and Robert served a mission to Nauvoo, Illinois 1989-1990, which they thoroughly enjoyed. They traveled the world, made many friends, and were loved by all. Mom’s gift to the world was her “famous loving smile.” She lived life to the fullest every day up until the very end and was always ready for a good joke. Orlinda was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert; daughter, Nancy Leavitt (Noel); three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by daughters, Susan Nelson (David), Stephanie Van Dusen (Stephen); fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren; one brother and one sister. Our family wishes to thank all of those who loved our mom at Spring Gardens St. George. Her smile will be missed there. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2023 in the Veteran’s section of the Provo City Cemetery located at 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah.
