Patricia Louise Young Jarman Obituary (1932

Patricia Louise Young Jarman gracefully finished her earthly journey on December 7, 2022 and was reunited with her loving husband, Lee, who waited seven years for her to join him. Pat was born the second of 15 children to Burl and Luisa Young, two months premature on January 28, 1932 in a barn where her parents were temporarily living in Binghampton, AZ. When the doctor arrived some hours after she was born, he apathetically picked her up by one tiny leg and said, "She's come too early and won't live long". She proved him wrong by going on to live almost 91 years! As a 16-year-old, when she received her patriarchal blessing, she learned that angels attended her birth, and angels continued to minister to her throughout her lifetime. Mom's life was never one of ease or luxury, but she was happy and content and never wished for more. She and dad shared something with everyone they met, usually in the form of delicious food or advice about growing tomatoes. Together they created something beautiful out of nothing and made us feel "rich", not because we went on fancy vacations or lived in big homes or drove expensive cars, but because we were children who knew we were loved. 91 years of raising and guiding a large family makes for a very wise woman. She was a lady respected and loved by all who knew her as she respected and loved all who she came into contact with. She was a lady of valor and faith and was certain of the truth. Mom was unwaveringly faithful to her covenants. She loved and served the Lord and her large family. She taught by example to love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, love the scriptures, love the Savior and follow the prophet. She had many talents but she was best at being a mom and grandma. We learned so much from her in this life and her legacy of faith, kindness and service will live on through her posterity. The Jarman posterity to date includes 9 children; Shawn (Carl), Lucile (Stan), Dean (Kris), Tara, Sam (Lydia), Laurel (Kent), Camille (Rob), Erica (Tom) and Emilee (Danny); 70 grandchildren; 73 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, with two additional great-grands on their way in 2023. The Jarman family would like to thank all the earthly angels who cared for our mom and grandma during her last year - you know who you are! But especially we are grateful for her nurse and grandson Nate Mansanarez. She was cared for with dignity and respect but most of all with pure love. "8 for Nate." Pat will be honored at a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Grandview 17th Ward Chapel, 1122 Grand Avenue, Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday, December 15 from 6-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10-10-45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
