Peggy Lee Bunnell Beesley

–

Provo, Utah

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Peggy Lee Bunnell Beesley. Peggy was born on October 24, 1948 after a beautiful fall day to LaMar D Bunnell and Lorna Stubbs Bunnell of Provo, Utah (Edgemont bench). Her birthday was always a joy and looked forward to because it was celebrated with the family during camping for the deer hunt.

Most of her school years were attended at Edgemont Elementary, later at Lincoln Jr. High School and then graduation from Orem High School, class of 1966. She continued her education at BYU, graduating with a BS degree in Elementary Education.

Growing up, Peggy enjoyed the out of doors, camping, tennis, hiking, skiing, and definitely horseback riding.

She married Richard V. Beesley March 22, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with five children, Daniel R. (Chasta), Nathan L. (Elizabeth), Jessie D. (Sarah), Jacob W. (Tammie), Sara Moriarity (Robert A. Jr.) and now 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister Ann B. Judkins (Russell), and a brother Bret J Bunnell (Kris). She was preceded in death by her mother and father and an older brother Gary L. Bunnell (Jackie).

Peggy and Richard spent the last 38 years in a beautiful home they built in Mapleton, Utah. The home is surrounded by fruit trees, grape vines, berry bushes, and a large garden where the family worked together. The family enjoyed camping, hiking, hunting and fishing together.

After Peggy's children were mostly grown, she resumed her teaching career at Sage Creek Elementary in Springville Utah. She taught first grade in the same classroom for 22 years. Her goal was always to have the children excited about learning new things, and loving reading. She made many close friendships with faculty, staff, and parents.

Peggy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and attended church at the Mapleton 21st Ward at the time of her death. She always served and held many positions including Young Women's President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Nursery Leader, and always loved Ward Girl's Camp Leader.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Mapleton LDS Chapel, 1316 South Main Street, Mapleton, Utah. Friends may call at the church Friday, June 30 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
