Raymond (Ray) Garver Obituary (1941

Raymond (Ray) Garver, son of Harry Garver and Mabel Gust, passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2024, shortly after his 83rd birthday. Ray grew up in Southern California and attended Newport Harbor High School. It was at church that he met his beloved wife, Judy, and together they made lifelong friends and shared many wonderful memories. Ray and Judy were married in 1962 and spent most of their lives in Huntington Beach, CA. They were blessed with two sons. Ray earned an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management from a local college and began his career with the City of Newport Beach, where he took pride in his work as a Marine Safety Officer until his retirement. After retiring early, Ray and Judy embarked on a great adventure, traveling across the United States and Canada in their truck and trailer, fulfilling a dream of Ray’s. Eventually, they settled in Provo, UT, where they made many good friends and served a family history mission together. Ray loved working on projects, especially those that benefited his sons and their families. He also enjoyed gardening and grew amazing tomatoes, which he loved to share with family and friends. Ray leaves behind a loving family, including his sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah.
