Reupena Matafele Tali Obituary (1978

"Never forget me, because if I thought you would, I'd never leave." Suddenly and Unexpectedly on the 10th day of October 2022 Our Brother, Husband and Father passed away. On a beautiful fall afternoon in Bountiful, UT at the age of 43. He leaves behind his beautiful wife Lavily and his daughter Keti. Pena was the youngest of his family, made up of Thirteen other siblings and two loving parents. He was born on November 26, 1978, in America Samoa/Faga Lau, to Laga 'Aia Vaipo'u Tali and Galoiola Fonoti. Pena loved his family, his Aiga. They were his world. He loved his daughter like a princess. Pena eventually ended up in the States and spent the last years of his life residing in Utah. In April of 2010, in Draper, UT he married the love of his life and mother of their daughter in the Draper Temple to be sealed for time and all eternity to Lavily Uasike. In October of 2016 they welcomed their only daughter, their princess, Keti Matafele. She stole her daddy's heart. Mommy was a little jealous, but he loved them both unconditionally. Pena loved teaching moments, especially with his daughter. He had a love of music, singing, dancing, going Karaoke with his brother Auega. He had a passion for sports, mainly football. What Poly doesn't. He loved his siblings; family was always his top priority. As is the Samoan culture, family over everything. Pena was a Gentle Giant and had a great sense of humor. 2 Corinthians 5:8: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Pena was preceded in death by his parents, Laga 'Aia VaiPo'u Tali and Galoiola Fonoti; siblings: Taufao Tali, VaiPo'u Leu'o Matafele Tali, Temukisa Matafele Tali, Roseta Matafele Tali, Romeo Faktufuga Matafele Tali what a Fai Mai le mafutaga matagofie. (what a sweet reunion) He is survived by his wife, Lavily Uasike and daughter Keti Matafele along with siblings, Fiapaipai Joyce Tali, Roketti O'Farrell Tali, Fiapaipai utu Tali, Lauama Lafai tele Tali, Matuaina Moe Vai Loa Tali, I'Aia Lualo Tali Tali and Auega Anthony Matafele Tali, along with many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other family. "Listen to the waves, the sea is calling my name. I'll see you on the other side of the stars. Until we meet again.” Written by sister in-law, Audrey Stowell Matafele Tali. Services in Utah: A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street. A celebration of life will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, at 3006 West 1520 North, Provo, Utah. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
