ReVoe Wilson

–

Provo, Utah

ReVoe Wilson passed away on Wednesday morning (August 24th) in her home with her husband at her side. She was 75 years old. ReVoe was born on September 7, 1935 in Cedar City, Utah. She was the daughter of Max & Edna Williams and was the oldest of 4 children. In 1944 the family moved to Los Angeles, California. ReVoe attended Eastmont Junior High School and Montebello High School. There she enjoyed a close-knit group of friends with whom she was a key participant. They were very active in LDS church activities in the East Los Angeles Stake (Eastmont Ward). They regularly attended dances, sporting events, firesides and other outings. While at a dance, she met Jim Wilson and sparks flew - it was love at first sight. They married on January 28, 1954 and were inseparable, best friends for the next 57 years. They lived first in Montebello, California, then moved to East Los Angeles (because they had no car and could walk to work, church and the market). In 1959 they purchased their first home in Tustin, CA. Over the next many years they moved the family to Orange, CA (1965), Ogden, UT (1969), Whittier, CA (1970), Villa Park, CA (1976), Albuquerque, NM (1981), Placentia, CA (1990), then finally to Provo, Utah (1992) where they have remained firmly planted. They have shared a full and exciting life with wonderful memories from every place they lived. ReVoe loved cooking, reading, movies, and crafts (particularly needle point and quilting). But mostly she enjoyed being with her family. ReVoe didn't strive for, or acquire educational degrees or honors, but to anyone who knew her it was clear she was worthy of an honorary doctorate in homemaking.
ReVoe is survived by her husband Jim and their six children: Jim (Robin) in Provo; Jeff (Diane) in Provo; Jerrie (Leilani) in Provo; Greg (Holly) in The Woodlands, TX; Stephanie Leek (Chad) in West Jordan; Chris (Lori) in LaFayette, LA. These six children and their posterity (24 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren) were the greatest source of pride and pleasure to Jim & ReVoe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Oak Hills 9th Ward Chapel, 1960 North 1500 East, Provo. Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.bergmortuary.com.
