Provo, Utah
Robert Scott Bagshaw was a lifelong resident of Provo, Utah. He was born on June 23, 1957 and passed away on Sept. 27, 2022 at age 65. Scott belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Scott loved cats, especially his fluffy, orange Big Guy (Antic). He was an avid reader of many different genres. He loved word puzzles, Scrabble, and WII Bowling. Crafts of all kinds fascinated him, especially Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding. When he first got interested in it, the only books to be found were in Japanese, so he learned how to fold paper from the pictures. When someone in the family was feeling blue, Scott would carefully choose to play music he knew would lift them up.
At about age 4 Scott came running inside begging mom to make him a fishing pole. She tied a bent paper clip to a string and a stick and sent him to fish in the ditch. A few minutes later he proudly brought mom a small trout. She was afraid to let us eat it, so it became cat food. Scott loved to hike red rock country with his family. He took hundreds of beautiful photographs of nature. He was a printer by profession and worked at BYU Press and other print shops.
Scott struggled with extreme medical problems. Several years ago, he lost function of two chambers of his heart. He never fully recovered. He spent the last 12 years in the Provo Rehabilitation Center. Thanks to the staff who cared for him when the family no longer could. Also, Suncrest Hospice gave him wonderful care this last year. The family is grateful to all his caregivers.
Scott is survived by his brother, Larry (Becky) and his sister, Laura Graul.
