Roy (Ed) Higgins Obituary (1943

Roy (Ed) Higgins born April 29, 1943 in San Fernando, California to Roy and Louise Pace Higgins. He passed away May 10, 2022 at his home in Nephi, Utah. He was educated in the Provo School District, obtained a Bachelor's Degree from BYU, and a Masters Degree from U of U. Roy’s career began as a social worker in Price, Utah. Throughout his career he supervised many programs with the State of Utah. Roy was gifted with the ability to problem solve and negotiate. He was often called upon to resolve conflict when others were unsuccessful. Some of his hobbies included puzzles of all kinds, model airplanes and cars. Collecting shells and driftwood and counting waves on the Oregon coast. He loved to watch football, especially his favorite team the Detroit Lions. Roy is survived by his wife and best friend Sandee; their children Ryan, Jeff (Dalene), Deon (Cathy), Shani (Dustin), Aaron (Shana), Blake (Chris), Danielle (George), 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His siblings; Mariellen, Ken (LaNae), and Kaylyn (Bryan). He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Marie and great grandson Bentlie. A Celebration of Roy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah, with a viewing from 10-10:50 a.m. prior to services.
