Rudolf (Rudy) Hoole Obituary (1933

Rudolf (Rudy) Hoole January 4th, 1933 - September 13th, 2024. Rudy passed away, Friday the 13th of September, peacefully in his home surrounded by family on both sides of the veil, at the South Jordon View Senior Residential Living Center. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is now with his eternal companion Aartje "Alice" Anthonia Knoppert, who passed away January 24th, 2024. They were married on May 26th, 1953, Amsterdam, Netherlands and were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple, November 19, 1963. He was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands and was the son of Hendricus Johannes Martinus Hoole and Johanna Maria Sickman. Rudy grew up in a poor family and learned a very strong work ethic, helping to provide for the family. He worked with food vendors as a young boy who in turn gave him lunch and at the end of the day provided produce, milk or bread to take home to his family. As I remember it, he started working as an electrician’s helper at the age of 14 and no longer went to school. He loved his trade and grew in knowledge and experience to where he became a Master Electrician, working for Zions Securities for 30 years. As a young man, he had missed a lot of school taking care of his mother and thru that experience, he gained much compassion and had a very big heart. Rudy loved to go on mountain drives and go fishing, and in our families' years, camped quite a bit. He also loved his music, which he played for "everyone" to enjoy. As his hearing started to decrease, his enjoyment continued to get louder and louder, but all who "shared" in his listening, told him that they really enjoyed it as well. His other passion was trains and as fortune would have it, he always was able to live within hearing distance of a train and its whistle. Christmas was his favorite time of year because that was when Alice would let him put up his villages and trains. After his wife passed, he moved to the South Jordon View Senior Residential Living Center, where he met and made many new friends. He told me many times about how much he loved living there. He is preceded in death by his sweetheart Alle (as he called her), his brothers, Hendricus "Hank" Hoole (Daryl), Johannes Hoole, Herman Hoole, Theo Hoole (Marijke) and Martinus Hoole. He is survived by his son, LeRoy John Hoole (Marceena), Judith Rosita Hoole Barton, his grandsons, Jeremy A. R. Barton (Sarah), Jacob A.R. Barton (Breana), lan A.R. Barton (Katricia), Devin Riley Hoole (Makayla), Hayden John Hoole, Harrison Daniel Hoole (Hailey), Bryson James Hoole (Emma), Keaton Sterling Hoole- presently serving in Morris Town New Jersey Mission, eight great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
