Susan Terry Pawlowski lost her 23-year fight with fatal conditions, succumbing to metastatic colon cancer January 11, 2023.
She was born May 5, 1955, in Provo Utah to Andy and Nyra Terry. She and her younger brother, Brad, spent their youth in Richland, Washington which she considered magical because of a small town, innocent times, and wonderful parents.
In ninth grade, her family moved to Redondo Beach, California where she fell in love with the ocean. Her happiest days as a teenager were spent with her toes in the sand and the water licking at her feet, or on a floatie in the neighbor’s pool listening to Neil Young and Cat Stevens.
After high school, she moved to Utah and worked at Wasatch Bank for the next ten years. She learned a lot and had great memories of working there.
She married David Birk and in 1980 they had a son. They later divorced and David has since passed away. In 1983, she met Rick Pawlowski, a widower with two little girls. They were married a year later in the Washington D.C. Temple. A year after that a set of twins were born.
Three months after the twins were born, the family moved to Texas and lived for five years in Azle. That time was cherished, and many lifelong friendships were formed.
In 1990, a move back to Utah was made and Orem became home once again. During her time in Orem, she served as a Young Women’s president to 53 young women, and she impacted each life that she taught. Once the children were out on their own a move to Cedar Hills was made, followed six years later by a move to her present home in Provo.
Sue loves and cherishes all the friendships she has made in all the areas she has lived.
While she loved her experience working at the bank, her greatest fulfillment was being a stay-at-home mom. Her love and patience for all her children will be remembered forever. She loved to create and decorate and was an avid crafter. She has a quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humor. Everyone loved to be in her company.
She is survived by her husband Rick, children Jennifer Shearer (Jim), Melissa Camomile (Ryan), Matthew Birk (Chelsea), Andrea Crawford (Chris), and Jackie McDermott (Stephen). Twelve grandchildren Liam, Trevan, Asher, Gavin, Trey, Adilyn, Avrie, Jax, Jace, Milo, and Ethan. One great grandchild Marjorie. Also, by her brother, Brad. Preceded in death by her parents and grandson Ashton.
The family would like to express their love and thanks to her Symbii Hospice family and especially nurses Marleen and Becky. You are two angels on earth.
