Thressa Rae Adams Danner Obituary (1926

Thressa Rae Danner, at the young age of 90, passed away on January 2, 2017. Rae, as she preferred to be called, passed peacefully with her loving family by her side. She was born in Provo, Utah on December 8, 1926, to Glen Adams and Bethana Henry-Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lewis Danner; son, David Glen Danner; and Richard Danner Jr. her infant son. She is survived by her brother, Stanley Adams; daughters, Dixie Wilkins (Larry), Jill Carter (James) and Kim D. Jones (Alan deceased); and son, Todd A. Danner-Murray (Clark Murray-Danner). She was raised in Orem, Utah with her brother and attended schools in the area. After graduating from Lincoln High, she went to work for Geneva Steel and then Taylor Brothers department store. She married the love of her life Richard Lewis Danner in Boulder City, Nevada on March 23, 1947. Rae and Richard (Dick) enjoyed golfing and going on road trips with their friends. The family also enjoyed many outdoor activities while growing up. Richard and son David were avid hunters while Mom, the girls, and Todd enjoyed each other’s company while the guys were away. Rae had a contagious smile and made everyone she met feel very welcome in her home. She loved her children and any of their friends. If you knew Rae, you were family. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Tara Allman, Kari Powell, Austin Danner (Mellissa), Aaron Danner (Callie), Cody Meister (Nedra), Cameron Meister, Corben Carter, Chelsea Terry (Pete), Casey Carter (Tim), and Whitney Simons (Lyle); 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Sharon 6th Ward Chapel, 545 South 800 East, Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Sunday, January 8 from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
