VerDaun Bingham Obituary (1937

On Monday, February 13, 2023, VerDaun Bingham, loving wife, mother, and beautiful tender spirit, passed away at the age of 85 with her son Darren at her side holding her hand. VerDaun was born in her family home in Kanaraville, Utah, April 13, 1937. She was the youngest of 6 children, Diana, Burns, Van, Tex, and Melvin. Her oldest sister Diana, 17 years old at the time, had the opportunity of naming VerDaun. That’s how she received her uniquely different name. And it would be a fitting name for the wonderfully eclectic life VerDaun would lead. VerDaun took up auto racing in the 50’s. Discovered a love for fitness and bodybuilding in the 60’s, that would last the entirety of her life. Fitness and health were always important to her. She trained in the gym until her body was unable. An avid snow skier, she skied into her 80’s before finally hanging up her poles. But her true love was singing. From the time she was 3 years old and won her first singing contest, she was singing. Singing as a high soprano soloist, she soloed in concert halls all across the world. She sang for the Southern California Mormon Choir for 28 years and would meet the love of her life, Loran Bingham. VerDaun was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married Loran, on December 5, 1970. She was blessed to marry into a beautiful and loving family of five daughters and a son before having two boys of her own. Family would ultimately be her greatest passion and love. VerDaun had many friends. She had the ability to meet anyone at any time and create a lifelong friendship. She was one in a million! An amazing wife, mother, and friend. The world is not quite as bright without her in it. VerDaun was preceded in death by her husband Loran. She is survived by her eight children. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Edgemont 9th Ward Chapel, 4300 North Canyon Road, Provo, Utah. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
