Vickie Lynn Walker Sutherland

Vickie Lynn Walker Sutherland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at home on January 22, 2017 in Orem, UT at the age of 67. Vicki was born on June 18, 1949 in Provo, UT to Eugene and Helen Walker. She graduated from Orem High in 1967.

She married Gerald K. Sutherland in 1970 and moved to Orem to start a family. She worked for Burrells for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had great faith and love for the Gospel. Later in life, Jerry and Vickie loved their empty nest and took full advantage of it by taking small trips to see many National Parks.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Gerald of Orem, UT; daughter, Rebecca (Daniel) Christensen of Provo; son, Mathew Sutherland of Pleasant Grove; 5 grandchildren: Damien and Madison Granger and Erikka Levi, Alexander and Morgan Christensen; 2 sister in-laws and 1 brother-in-law: Carolyn of Provo, UT and Gordon and RaeDawn Sutherland of Cedar City, UT; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Helen Walker of Orem, UT and her son, Ryan Sutherland.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vickie’s life at a funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah.
