Wilfred "Bill" Leander Johnson Obituary (1936

Wilfred “Bill” Leander Johnson passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017. Bill was born on October 26, 1936 in Ogden, Utah. His family moved to Northern California shortly thereafter, where he and his younger sister Bea grew up. Bill later married Carma June Taylor and became step-father to Circe Whittle. Together Bill and Carma had one daughter, Quemby. Bill and Carma later divorced. In January 1982 Bill met Maureen Olivia La Nier at a singles’ dance. The two were married on September 24th of that same year in Orem, Utah. The marriage joined their two families; Maureen’s five daughters and two sons, and Bill’s daughter. Bill and Maureen were very happy and enjoyed many activities together including traveling, going to plays, and movies. They read the newspaper together each morning. They remained very much in love until Maureen passed away on January 18, 2016. During his lifetime, Bill worked for many years as a Manufacturing Engineer. He loved building, working on, and reading about cars. His other hobbies were stargazing and rock collecting. He also loved seafood, especially shrimp and gumbo. Bill is survived by his sister Beatrice Lanore Johnson, daughter Qwemby Ann Johnson Rogers, and step-children Circe Whittle, Nancy Rodriguez, Tracy (Scott) Folsom, Cathy (Daniel) Shin, Debbie (Travis) Waters, Tammy (Jared) Saxton, Michael (Bonnie) Cornick, and James Cornick. He is survived by many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Fredriek and Glenyth Johnson, and his beloved wife.
