Traditional Funeral Service
A time-honored way to honor and remember a loved one.
It typically includes a formal service held at a church or at the mortuary, where family and friends gather to pay their respects. Following the funeral, a graveside service is held at the cemetery for the final committal. This type of service allows for meaningful reflection, shared memories, and the comfort of community support during a time of loss.
Graveside Services
Honoring a Loved One at the Graveside
A graveside service is a type of funeral service that takes place at the cemetery, with the gathering held around the grave. This service may follow a viewing at the mortuary, with a procession leading to the cemetery, or it can simply involve family and friends meeting directly at the cemetery for the service. It provides a respectful setting for final words, prayers, and goodbyes before the burial takes place.
Cremation
An alternative to burial
Cremation offers flexibility in how a loved one is honored. Families can still choose to have a traditional funeral service with a viewing beforehand, followed by cremation instead of a graveside burial. Another option is to have a cremation first, with a memorial service held afterward to celebrate the life of the deceased. Some families may also choose to have a direct cremation with no formal service, taking time to decide later how and when to memorialize their loved one and where to place or scatter the cremains.
